FAQs

We understand you may have questions before booking. Here are answers to the most common ones we receive at Natural Menopause Canberra.

General questions

No referral is needed. You can book directly with us.

While menopause and perimenopause are our main focus, we also support women’s health at other life stages when appropriate.

Your care plan is tailored to you. It may include acupuncture, laser acupuncture, kinesiology, nutritional guidance, or emotional wellbeing sessions. Not every woman needs every service — we match the support to your needs.

Acupuncture & Laser Acupuncture

Yes. We use single-use, sterile needles and follow strict safety standards. Side effects are minimal and rare.

We offer laser acupuncture, a completely needle-free option that uses gentle low-level light to stimulate acupuncture points. It’s ideal for women who prefer a non-invasive treatment but still want the therapeutic benefits of acupuncture.

Yes. Research shows laser acupuncture can help reduce hot flushes, improve sleep, and support relaxation by gently regulating the body’s energy flow — making it a great alternative for those with needle sensitivity.

Many women feel changes within 3–4 sessions, though this varies depending on individual needs. We review progress regularly and adjust your plan accordingly.

Absolutely. Acupuncture is safe alongside HRT and can help reduce symptoms that persist even while on medication.

Holistic & Applied Kinesiology

Kinesiology is a natural therapy that uses gentle muscle testing to identify imbalances in the body — physical, emotional, or energetic. It helps restore balance, reduce stress, and support your body’s natural ability to heal.

Holistic Kinesiology focuses on energy flow, emotional wellbeing, and mind-body balance.

Applied Kinesiology focuses on muscle and structural function — identifying areas of tension or weakness that may contribute to issues such as back or hip pain.

It can help relieve aches, stiffness, and fatigue, while also addressing stress, mood swings, and emotional overwhelm. Many women feel more balanced, grounded, and energised after sessions.

No — it complements them beautifully. Kinesiology can be combined with acupuncture, nutritional support, and counselling to create an integrated, whole-person approach to menopause care.

Yes. It’s gentle, non-invasive, and suitable for most people, including those managing hormonal or emotional imbalances.

Nutritional support

No. We focus on realistic, sustainable changes that you can actually live with. Every plan is tailored to your needs and preferences.

Not necessarily. Supplementation is only suggested if it’s safe, relevant, and likely to be beneficial for your individual case.

Emotional Wellbeing & Counselling

Neuro Emotional Technique (NET) is a gentle, mind-body approach that helps release stress patterns stored in the body, reducing emotional triggers and restoring calm.

Kinesiology helps identify and release stress or emotional blocks, supporting resilience and emotional balance.

No. Counselling is available as an option for those who would benefit from it. Our counsellor, Iman Al-Alami, offers professional and compassionate support, but it’s not required for every patient.
